Affording a Walnut Farm Education

We recognize that your child’s education is a top priority. There are two pathways of support to afford an engaging education for your child at Walnut Farm:

  1. Arkansas Education Freedom Accounts (EFA) – For children older than five, the State of Arkansas offers scholarships for children to attend private schools in Arkansas. Click here for more information (the application is typically available in early March).
  2. Walnut Farm Family Individualized Tuition (FIT) – All families may apply to participate in the school’s program to set a tuition level for their family based on individual financial circumstances. Walnut Farm, as an accredited not-for-profit school, works with families to find a tuition level that fits with each family’s financial situation. The application for consideration opens each January. Click here to start your application. WFMS’ school code is 148241.

FAQ

What’s the FIT process like?

After submitting your application, it takes two to three weeks for processing. The school’s FIT committee meets to review and make recommendations. Families that apply will be notified of the determination of their FIT Plan via email. The family then replies to accept the FIT Plan.

We qualify for EFA. Can we still apply for FIT?

Yes. The school encourages all eligible families apply for Education Freedom Accounts first. After EFA considerations, families may still apply for an individualized tuition plan.

Do we apply every year?

Since families’ financial situations change over time, requiring an application each year ensures that each participating family has the most accurate tuition and that individualized tuition levels are set fairly.

We probably don’t qualify. Should we apply?

Many families who think that they won’t qualify for an FIT Plan actually do.

Can we check on our process?

Yes, you may email finance@walnutfarm.org to check on your FIT status.
