Dear Walnut Farm families,

We have had a wonderful start to our second semester of the school year. Our staff is excited to offer our parents this digital newsletter. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to gain more insight about your child’s classroom as well as learn more about activities campus wide. I encourage you to take a few moments and read the articles from each of our environments, the PA update, and enjoy our student pictures and action shots.

When we returned from the Winter Break, Jean Rashkin, a Montessori specialist, conducted a two-day professional development course for our teachers and classroom assistants. Language, literacy, and reading instruction was the focus for both days. Our staff is committed to professional growth opportunities that directly impact and enhance our classrooms. Our teachers and assistants were excited to receive great insight and wisdom from this national Montessori instructor.

The installation of our new toddler equipment was a highlight for the toddler students and toddler team in January! We appreciate the diligence of our WFMS Parent Association volunteers and parent participation. Our school was able to raise the necessary funds during our Walnut Farm Fall Family Days event to add this needed addition to our toddler playground. Thank You!!!!

Looking ahead, our Board of Trustees and PA are working together to host our 2nd Annual Clubs andCrawfish event on Friday, April 28. This event will provide memorable opportunities for families to connect and join local businesses as funds are raised for our beautiful school. To learn more about the event details and to find out how you can volunteer, visit the Clubs and Crawfish website: www.clubsandcrawfish.com

The first official day of spring is just around the corner, March 20. We wish you and your family a refreshing and relaxing spring break (March 20-24)! We look forward to returning on Monday, March 27, as we finish the final 9-weeks of school with enthusiasm and focus!

Sincerely,

Ellen Beach
