Here we are, October already!  The children are working and learning as they near the final stages of the normalization process.  Coming to school every day is becoming routine, and the children have reconnected with old friends while making new ones. Not only have the children been working hard, so have the teachers, staff, administrators and parents.  “It takes a village,” as they say, and our village is a strong one.

This fall we welcome the final step in our re-accreditation process. Last school year we completed a self-study where we took a long hard look at our school to make sure we are offering the best, authentic Montessori experience to our community.  In November, a team from the American Montessori Society (AMS) will come and observe us in action.  We are looking forward to showing AMS what a beautiful, strong, authentic Montessori program we have.

The past year has shown us what a giving parent community we have at Walnut Farm. During the self-study process, many alumni parents and current parents helped us look at our strengths and weaknesses.  In September, our present parent community came out in great numbers for Community Clean-up day.  In what turned out to be a two-day event for some, the Toddlers received a beautiful Sensory Path to walk on and our entire campus was given a face lift, with staining, weeding, sweeping, raking, and yes, boulder relocation.  It was a lovely sunny day, accompanied by the happy buzz of parents, children and staff working together to make our campus the best it can be.

To all of our community, past and present, we thank you for choosing Walnut Farm Montessori School and for your commitment to Montessori education.
